Carlos Tevez set for Manchester City return for the clash against Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.
The runaway Argentinian star could be named on the bench by manager Rorbeto Mancini months after he refused to come off the bench in the match against Bayern Munich. With the title race hotting up, it seems like it was a no-brainer for Mancini as the former captain would give them a massive boost. Manchester City have to respond to a sparkiling 5-0 win that their rivals Manchester United slayed on a struggling Wolves team. The City manager claimed that depending on Tevez's fitness, there is a chance he can make his long awaited return. “He is getting better but I don’t think Carlos can have more than 25-30 minutes."
Balotelli...lets all admit that despite The Invincibles of Arsenal in 03-04, Liverpool's great comeback in the UEFA champions league in 05 against the mighty Milan, and the spell of twinkle-toes Ronaldo, the Premier League, or better yet English football has been in need of a character and Genius of the same caliber as Mario Balotelli. We love the game so much that we're quick to forget that football is not just arguably a religion or a way of life, but its also entertainment. Whether it's intentional or not, Mario Balotelli is an entertainment guru. Alternating two strongly opposing characters more than Natalie Portman in Black Swan. Balotelli plays rebellious and illusive on the pitch, however plays disciple off the pitch. Its 50/50.
Ronaldinho 2014?
The Brazilian genius that once blessed the earth with his unprecedented skill and joy whilst playing the beautiful game could again show us exactly why we love him in 2014. We only have to rewind to 2002 when we first got a glimplse of the way football is really supposed to be played like. For most of us the name Ronaldo was associated with goals, 1 or 2 really cool tricks here and there. But then it evolved. This guy literally changed the game. I dont know about you, but when i first heard that there was a brilliant Brazilian baller called Ronaldinho (which means little Ronaldo) i just thought "okay, well there's no way he'll be as good as Ronaldo, this is ridiculous." I was obviously wrong. Ronaldinho showed the world where entertainment, competitiveness and personality meet. Ronaldo was a GREAT player but what Ronaldinho did had never been done before, and i dont think it will be done for many years to come. Yes Messi and Cristiano are both insanely talented, but when Ronaldinho had the ball at his feet, there was this sense of expectation, and about %97 of the time he delivered. In the Brazilian 51 man preliminary squad for the world cup, Ronaldinho has been named and this means that there is a possibility that we will see him again on the stage where he first showed us what he was about. The next world cup being in Brazil has already got me excited but the prospect of Ronaldinho being played has even got me more excited. For those of you who think hes past it, i have a little something for you to view...
Moments like these trigger a different kind of unity. In life we hardly ever get the chance to celebrate our unity, our mutual feelings and our common values. Most of the time we're focusing too much on the exact opposite, on our differences, how to leave the next man behind and manufacturing ways to exploit each other. Fabrice Muamba, the 23 year old English football player randomly collapsed in the middle of the game over the weekend. When things like this happen we suddenly snap back to reality. rival club or opposite number, everybody felt the same way. Despite the severity of the situation, there was a unique beauty that was created in the unity and support that everybody gave to him and his family. When you look at the bigger picture you see that almost everything we are taught to focus on is irrelevant. You realise that we're all one big community, one big family. The WORLDWIDE support that has been shown to Fabrice and his family has been phenomenal. Nobody asked what religion he was before they showed support, which god he prayed to, or weather he was married or not. That was all irrelevant. The point was that we all naturally felt a duty of care and cared enough to show support in what ever way we could. Get well soon Fab...
